Bet Hayeled was established 13 years ago by Irit Zucker and Yitz Feigenbaum both members of Kibbutz Merav.
This group home serves orphaned children or children from abusive homes who have been referred by the State's social service network. The home specializes in children who can not be returned to their homes and need to rebuild their life in a warm nurturing community.
The Home itself accommodates children ages kindergarten through 12th grade. While the government's oversight ends when the children graduate high school, our lifetime commitment to these young adults continues on. We have pledged to be their “family” and see them through (both emotionally and financially) the next stages of life.
This may include such challenges as the army, yeshiva study, national service and university education. In short, our mission is to extract these children from the cycle of distress, while creating a framework that allows them to integrate into and contribute to society.
